As the country and the state of North Carolina enjoy low unemployment rates, there is a growing sense of excitement about the future. Unfortunately, many young people from disadvantaged communities in the Charlotte area do not share this sense of optimism. They lack the hope that many adults feel because they do not believe they can participate in the expanding economy. As a result, too many of our youth see little value in working hard or pursuing a good education, as they do not believe it will lead to financial success.
Conversely, we understand that individuals of all ages who possess hope and optimism about the future tend to make better life choices and are more willing to work towards positive goals.
We believe that one of the most effective ways to instill these "seeds of hope" and optimism in young people is by providing them with Financial Literacy Training.
