Meet the Host of Mis-Perfect: Melody Wilson
Bold, assertive, faithful, and true, Melody Wilson is definitely not your average twenty-two year old. She is a recent graduate of Tuskegee University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Sales and Marketing. On campus, she served in various capacities from the Golden Voices concert choir to the Executive Board of the Student Government Association. Her high scholastic achievements lead her to graduate in the top 10% of her collegiate class.
When asked why she chose media as a career with a family full of clinicians and educators, she stated that the industry needed more diversity to tell the unique perspective of the “forgotten”. Raised in the church, she knew her existence on Earth was to serve her community. In 2016, she started an annual homeless shelter ministry project in honor of her late father. Through life’s many tests and trials, Melody Wilson has always been an advocate of resilience and using her pain as her purpose. Her mantra to live by is “To whom much is given, much is required. To whom much is given much is tested”. She has shaped her life around this quote in hopes of encouraging someone else to do the same.
When she is not volunteering in the community or working, her favorite hobbies are spending time with her siblings, speaking to young college women, or cooking. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters, and many more professional/social organizations.
